“کلاس” با نام اصلی “Entre les murs” محصول ۲۰۰۸ سینمای فرانسه است. “فرانسوا مارین” (با بازی François Bégaudeau که فیلم نیز تا حدودی اتوبیوگرافی خود اوست) معلمی است که خود را برای سال تحصیلی جدید آماده می‌کند. در یکی از مدارس پاریس که بچه‌هایی از ملیت‌های مختلف در آن مشغول به تحصیل هستند، معلم‌ها در مورد شیوه‌های آموزشی و تربیتی خود با هم گفت‌وگو می‌کنند. مدیریت مدرسه سعی می‌کند در جانب بی‌طرفی باشد و حتی نماینده‌ای از دانش آموزان را نیز در کمیته‌ی ارزش‌یابی تحصیلی می‌پذیرد. “مارین” امسال با چهره‌های جدیدی روبه‌رو است و سعی می‌کند تا از پس آنان بر بیاید، او در برخورد با محصلان کلاس‌اش گاهی موفق است و گاهی شکست خورده، حتی او نیز کاسه صبری دارد اما باید رفتار خود را با بچه‌ها تحت کنترل داشته باشد…

فیلم “کلاس” به کارگردانی “لورن کانته” در جشنواره‌ی کن ۲۰۰۸ برنده‌ی نخل طلای بهترین فیلم سال شد و هم چنین کاندید رسمی کشور فرانسه در مراسم اهدای جوایز آکادمی امسال بود. فیلم در نهایت نامرد اسکار بهترین فیلم خارجی سال ۲۰۰۸ نیز شد. بیش از ۱۲ نفر از منتقدان برجسته‌ترین نشریات امریکایی و اروپایی، از جمله “شیکاگو تریبیون”، “لس انجلس تایمز” و “انترتینمنت دیلی” فیلم را در لیست ۱۰ فیلم برتر سال ۲۰۰۸ خود قرار داده‌اند.
